Auberge near Albertville offers a warm welcome and a practical base for outdoor enthusiasts. Despite our late arrival, the restaurant remained open, and we found a well-stocked self-service breakfast with mini-pans for frying eggs, which was a nice touch. During our stay, I enjoyed a serene morning stroll through the charming streets of Conflans; the area is definitely worth exploring, with its coffee shops and beautiful views. The commute to Megève involved some winding roads, so be prepared with snow chains if the weather calls for it. I particularly appreciated a unique feature in Room 25—a window in the shower! That added a refreshing touch, allowing for a truly immersive stay. The hotel provides basic amenities like flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and electric kettles for those wanting a warm drink. While Auberge may not offer extravagant luxury, it certainly balances value and comfort effectively, making it an economical choice for adventure seekers in the French Alps. Keep an eye on your budget, and you’ll find this place worthwhile.
